Montesquieu

What is the connection between a famous 18th century French philosopher and a contemporary range of Bordeaux wines? Answer: Charles-Louis de Secondat, Baron de Montesquieu

Montesquieu was, in fact, a vine grower before he became a man of literature. The first of these two passions always provided him with most of his income… Born in 1689, he was a true ‘Bordelais’, who spent most of his life in the heart of the Graves region where his family owned sizeable vineyards.

Today his decendants continue this part of his work through the wine company called ‘Vins et Domaines Montesquieu’, thus keeping up a long-standing family tradition.

The fine negociant wines produced by Vins et Domaines Montesquieu aim to be complementary. Unlike the chateau wines, they give priority to a continuity of style by subtle blending. A full range, high quality and reasonable prices fro wines which are approachable and pleasant even in youth.
